1769 Bar & Restaurant
Classic pub food and the tastiest hand-pulled pints; it’s all on offer in the 1769’s relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. No matter how hearty your appetite is after walking the fells, you’ll find the perfect remedy in the 1769 Bar & Restaurant. It’s also one of the best real-ale pubs around, and the only local village pub in Grasmere.
Real Ales include:
Hawkshead Bitter, Hawkshead Red, Hawkshead Windermere Pale, Jennings Cumberland Ale, Tirril Grasmere Gold and Tirril Nut Brown Ale.
The newest addition to the culinary offerings at the Inn at Grasmere is our Italian-themed restaurant. With an open-air feel in a former conservatory and views over our Fell Patio, The Courtyard serves up continental brews and sourdough pizzas that are sure to satisfy your cravings.

Our Location, by car:
Grasmere is located in the centre of the Lake District, if you are driving North to South the M6 motorway serves the Lake District.
Exit at junction 35 on the M6.
And then take the A590 and follow the signs for Grasmere.
If you are driving South to North then exit at junction 35 and take the A590.
